cPanel File Manager is a convenient tool for managing website files without using FTP. You can create, upload, edit, move, copy, compress, or delete files directly from your browser. It also allows recovering deleted files from the Trash folder before permanently removing them.

Access File Manager:

  1. Log in to cPanel.

  2. Go to the Files section and click File Manager.

Common Tasks in File Manager:

  • Create Files or Folders: Click New File or New Folder, enter the name, and save.

  • Upload Files: Navigate to the folder and click Upload. Drag-and-drop or select files from your computer.

  • Download Files: Select files and click Download.

  • Copy or Move Files: Select files, then click Copy or Move and specify the destination.

  • Delete Files: Click Delete to move files to Trash, or permanently delete by selecting Skip Trash.

  • Rename Files or Folders: Select the item and click Rename.

  • Edit Files: Use Edit for text files or Code Editor for coding files.

  • Compress or Extract Files: Use Compress to create archives (Zip, Gzip, BZip2) or Extract to unzip files.

  • Search Files: Use the search bar to find files in your directory or public_html.
